Let’s Kick this off with Elliot Chambers and his use of flat colors and shapes.



I love the looseness of Sara-Vide Ericson’s work. The vibrant color and harsh contrasts are striking. I like how she seems to capture her subjects in the act of doing something.



Keep Looking is an animation from Jorge R Canedo E.  Chris Anderson, Victor Claudio Silva, and Phil Borst.

The simplicity of the shapes and the noisy texture are really cool.

So I’m a little torn on showing you this. On one hand, it’s a wonderful bit of artwork and storytelling in a game on the Apple app store. On the other hand, they make you pay for each new level. I really hate this business model.

This comic strip from The Oatmeal is a great demonstration of how easy it is to believe things that don’t go against our beliefs and why we react so strongly to ideas that challenge our held beliefs. The Backfire Effect. It’s a little long, but totally worth it.
